Experienced Eclecticism is a fine start to describing Michael “Double 0” Aguilar. But it’s only a start. The broad picture looks like this: Ivy-League educated, Olympian, Multi-media artist, DJ, Music Producer and one half of seminal hip-hop group Kidz in the Hall. The more focused view is the one from inside the DJ booth, where unlike most open-format DJs, Double 0 has depth. He spins classic hip-hop parties in New York, dancehall nights in Brixton, house sets in Miami or mixes it all at a sweaty Ohio State frat party. Tomorrow can wait.
Double 0 has played Lollapalooza, Mamby On The Beach, SXSW, Hangout Festival, Hip Hop Kemp as well as club gigs in NY, London, Munich, Paris, Chicago, Miami and LA. He holds multi-year club residencies in both LA & NY while also touring as the DJ for Grammy Award winning artist Lupe Fiasco.
As a music producer he’s collaborated with Just Blaze, Estelle, Tyga, Pusha T, Bun B, Nikki Jean, Lupe Fiasco, Marsha Ambrosius, Gym Class Heroes, 88 keys, Vic Mensa, Mc Lyte, Freeway and most often, Naledge of Kidz in the Hall.
Double 0 is the creator of Free Range, a podcast about hip hop’s influence on the world and it’s future as a universal language.
